College : Almost over

Here is a very cliché line : It seems college just started a few days back but two years seems to be over all of a sudden. But thats very true !

Yesterday was the farewell party from the Department of Communication and the juniors. A good show put up by the juniors with dance, music, et all sans spirits. This is just the official farewell. Last year we almost had three parties with our seniors. One was the official one in college, second was in Pondycherry and the third was in Flame Le Club. The third party was the best one, everyone was pretty high and not in their senses. Like always, we smuggled vodka into the discotheque and at the time of leaving, one drunk ass from my class was bragging to the waiter that he brought in vodka. Cha ! Total damage.

Coming to the point, college has been really good and more than learning, it was an experience of all sorts that MCC gives. Three cheers ! The very first time when I said I want to do post grad at MCC, there was a big no from my house, keeping the MCC reputation in mind. But the Head of Communication Department happened to be a family friend of my aunt, that was convincing enough at my place and it was pretty easy getting into the college.

The very first day college started of with assignments. Hated it !!! And the cultural difference there kept me uncomfortable for quite sometime … But all went fine after that. Life was taking me places and I was enjoying.

MCC gave me some of the best pals and the fun we’ve had together and the projects we did together made us gel even more.

Pradeep ! The first guy I met in MCC and one of my best friend. My partner in all my HR ventures, Pradeep is one guy who has a control on all his fun and knows when to stop to stay away from a mess.

Anand ! Met him in the electric train on the very first day of college. Pradeep gave a hyped up intro about Anand and people in class where almost under the belief that Anand was a don and hit men in Tata Sumos where just a phone call away for him in case of any problem. All went well for Anand till Krishna asked him the number of tyres in a Sumo which Anand messed while answering. We started teasing him that day and we haven’t stopped till now. A very nice guy whom you can trust at all times except when he is high.

Krishna ! Happened to be my senior at SRM but he was from BCA and I had no clue about him. Like you guys know, he is my only competitor in every Take-It-All contests. Take-It-All is the name we coined for bottoms up while watching Hard Candy. I’ve had all the fun with him, the late night outs, night show movies, booze, and of course all the projects we’ve done together have always been a success. An aspiring director, Krishna is one hell of an example of how to dream big and stay focussed on it.

Sarah ! Principal’s daughter ! This is what I first heard about her. No not the MCC, the WCC Principal. Got close to her after the feature we did on MCC for our college journal. First bencher. Padips. Ya, spectacles too. But outside class, she is one cool and typical MCC species.

Fenn ! Last bencher. Padips. No spectacles. Did I say padips ? Yes, Deccan Chronicle and some english mags which I bet he was only having only for looking at the pics. One fine day in the Communication exam, we guys where drawing Maletzke’s Communication Model with our pens, I turned back and got a shock of my life, this buger was even colouring the model with colour pens. We assumed Fenn was one serious guy and one big padips which he later proved wrong. Courtesy: The PR interview with the Airtel supremo. One of my best pals from MCC who goes that extra mile if you need any help and extra two miles if you happen to be a girl.

Juby ! While having dinner at the farewell last night, Juby came to me and said, do you know, you were the first friend I made at MCC. Same here da, you and Pradeep were my first friends and best ones event today.He might have made a lot more friends after that and we may not be that close but still he was the guy with me at the first day of college during all those interviews. Juby is a cool Heberian and I haven’t seen him once pissed.

Sundar ! Illaiyaraja fan. Lazy ass. Good singer. Flirt. Big dreamer. Bigger director (soon to be one). Best friend.

One confession. Dawg, it was me who was chatting with you in Yahoo Messenger in the name of Sushma. Incase you want to try refusing what you did, I have the conversations saved.

And there is this ROTFL girl Tanya, Sneha with her always smiling face and Anu with her jumping nose and super model Deepa with whom I travel everyday and Tanya happens to be our target for all pranks, after Anand of course. And there is eloped and married Rachel, my sweetheart Mia (Gapp are you reading this), Ruth, Rosy Levin, the thinner going Binnie, the animator Chitra, the treasurer Kyizome, the witty Kurien, the beautiful marwadi girl* (* conditions apply) Kushi, and there is Aarti, Vineetha, Sharanya, Janice, Sai, Andrea and Meena whom I am surely going to miss, sometime or the other in life. Well if you are wondering why its all more of gals’ name here, the guy-gal ratio in my class is 1:2, well thats something to boast about.

Life has been so good and so much fun with all these people and there is not much time left before we all go in our ways. Life will be taking us places and its only for good, there may be new people coming in my life, but these guys are inseparable from me.
